As the leading European bandsaw blade manufacturer, Dakin-Flathers are excited to announce plans to expand our existing state-of-the-art facility by over 7,500m2 covering 3 floors at our current premises in West Yorkshire, England.
At the heart of the project is the drive to reliably deliver quality products to all our new and existing partners, in over 100 countries, for the long term, and to meet the growing global demand for world-class bandsaw and bandknife blades. Due for completion in early 2023, the scheme will allow Dakin-Flathers to maximise production capacity and improve efficiencies across the product range, providing a firm foundation for our customers’ continued growth. Additionally, space will be allocated for new machinery to support some innovative new projects and product developments – more announcements to follow.
This new development, which can accommodate over 150 employees, will also boast charging points for multiple electric vehicles, improved staff facilities, flexible workspaces and a much larger warehouse that uses new picking and storage systems.
Dakin-Flathers has enjoyed rapid and sustained growth, doubling in size three times over the last 20 years, which has led us to become a market leader in our sector. We have invested heavily, and will continue to do so, in the business and our employees. Our continued growth will be supported by a range of exciting new ventures and an investment programme in excess of £10m over the next 24 months. Dakin-Flathers’ growing green credentials will also benefit from an expansion of our PV solar range. Renewable energy generation will increase from 265,000 kWh per annum to more than 900,000 kWh. That is enough energy to power over 290 homes for a year*!
